Dear baby,

~Random thoughts and feelings during my first pregnancy~

Dear baby,

This passed Sunday was Easter and I woke up to a basket for you from the Easter Bunny. It was filled with a Baby’s First Years book and a baby chick with a note from EB himself. I couldn’t have been happier at that point. Can’t wait to celebrate holidays with you when you get here.

Mommy

Dear baby,
In this picture I’m 14 weeks and ever growing. My pants don’t fit anymore and my butt keeps getting bigger. At this rate, I might as well stay in sweat pants. Not a problem for me!

Dear baby,

I haven’t written in a while. Mommy has been trying to balance school and training for her promotion in May. I am dog tired but I won’t give up. Not now, not ever. Your daddy is joining to military to help out and we are more than ecstatic (and probably nervous) for your arrival. We did things way out of order but we are working together to provide for you.

The other day I heard your heart beat for the first time. It was incredible. Who knew such an experience would be so heart warming. Next time I go in I hope to hear it again and find out whether you’ll be a boy or girl.

Dear baby,

You didn’t like the fact you had to wait to eat this morning, did you? You didn’t have to make me throw up at the Health Department! Oh well, I forgive you. :)

Dear baby,

If you turn out to be a bouncing baby boy, I think I’ll name you Isaiah Holden Crouse. It means God is my salvation from the hollow in the valley. Your great grandma loves the name and the more I thought about it, it turned out to be a beautiful name. I haven’t even came close to deciding a girl name. I know I have plenty of time but I think I’m having too much fun with this planning.

Dear baby,

You have requested cheese using your womb service. It took a lot of whining and begging but Nana finally bought some. I’ve eaten 2/3 of it already and that shouldn’t happen. It can’t be normal either. So let’s stop with the cheese wants. There are other yummy foods in the pantry.

Dear baby,

You have a family outside of blood family to look forward to. Everyone at work is excited to meet you. They call you baby bean and squishy and little one. They were in a fit of awws when they saw the ultrasound. Even some of the customers, my favorites of course, are excited. One couple fights back and forth about whether you should be a boy or girl. Another old man gives me money to help out every now and then. You also have my friends to look forward to. By friends I mean my best friends who have been by my side since day one. Who knew about you before anyone else. Everyone is anticipating my Jelly Bean’s arrival. <3

Dear baby,

I’ve been throwing around names for you for the last couple of days. I know its too early but I think its the most exciting part. My grandma, your great grandma, named me. Or my middle name. I can’t remember. Anyway. I promise it won’t be stupid or redneck.

Mommy
